Casa Rosa is absolutely beautiful. The views from the living room and master bedroom are the best. I could barely believe how nice when we walked in the first time. And with Carlos at La Playa Restaurant only a few steps down the beach with the best food you could ask for, no cooking necessary. Spoiled Gringos like us need to remember the heat and plan accordingly.

Casa Rosa - my heart and my home! At least for the month of March 2010. We had a great time exploring Chelem, walking the sandy beach and collecting all the seashells. If you like quiet and charming and all the necessities to make life comfortable, you will love Casa Rosa.
We even got to like the beach dogs!

Being at Casa Rosa feels like you are at home, but you have replaced work, stress and worries with relaxation, calm and peace. The beds are comfortable, the bathrooms luxurious, everything you need is supplied. I could witter on about white sandy beaches, warm turquoise sea etc etc; its all been said before; What is special about this place? It really does give you time to stop - Stop thinking, stop stressing, stop rushing around like a headless chicken. There are places to see, good restaurants, amazing malls and historical cities, but the best moments for me were falling asleep and waking up to the sound of the sea and the wind in the palm trees. Or, lazing around in the hammock on the porch when it was too hot to sunbathe. I didn't want to leave and can't wait to return. It was the perfect holiday.

Our stay was all too brief..only a week.We found Casa Rosa while perusing Yolista a Local Expat Internet Blog. We've been interested in the area for the couple of years and thinking of purchasing a house so it was our first "look-see".We had a wonderful apartment with all the amenities, plus a fantastic view, and a great beach. We were fortunate to have both Tony and Karen there for most of our stay. For those of you who haven't had the opportunity to have met the owners you have truly missed out. Tony and Karen are wonderful, funny and really go out of thier way to assist you in everything...including lending us some pesos the first night we got in...Casa Rosa has been renovated in a delightful Mexican style with everything you could need,it's quiet, the beach is great, the owners attentive and FUN,and the price is reasonable and a GREAT value. My husband and I would not hesitate to reccomend it to anyone. I am a Flight Attendant for Delta and have flown internationally for 33 years and if you are looking for a wonderful quiet beach setting at a great value, stay at the Casa Rosa!!!! I could go on and on ...but the previous reviews have covered everything else I would have added!!!! Kudos to Tony and Karen on a great job with Casa Rosa and making us feel like family!!!!! Love you guys!!!! We'll be back soon!!!!!

Six of us arrived Friday the 8th of January for a 10 day stay at Casa Rosa. Unsure of what to expect because we booked online, the beach casa exceeded our expectations! Plenty of lines and towels and utensils, beautifully decorated and comfortable beds!
All that aside, lets talk about the location. Located beachfront... not far at all from downtown Chelem, the views and the beaches are awesome! Although we arrived in the coldest weather in Yucatan in 124 years, we still enjoyed our time the first few cold days inside the house playing games and cooking. Once the weather got a bit warmer, we strolled down the beach at dawn, laid out in the sun, sampled the local cuisine and enjoyed good friends that we've met here.
The owners Tony and Karen, although in the UK, responded promptly to any questions we had. They were in touch daily asking if we were having a good time and what they could do to make it better. How can you iimprove paradise?
The six of us could not have found better value, better location or better hospitality at 5 times the cost we paid for our rental. Highly recommended for anyone seeking a perfect, trouble free vacation on the beach with views to die for all wrapped up in one economical package. Casa Rosa has it all, 3 apartments of varying sizes as well as the beach house itself.
We'll be back, many, many times! Also, a plug for Paul and Cynthia at Lizard Joes (www.lizardjoes.com) Thank you! They escorted us everywhere, provided air port transfers, much needed information on the area and the best barbeque in town. They recommended tours, where to get laundry done, where to get bottled water, how to get around, etc. If you are coming to casa rosa and want to make your experience even better, contact them... not only will you find them the most accomodating people in the Yucatan, you'll eat good!

We stayed for five weeks at Casa Rosa and enjoyed every minute of it !!!
The house is right on the beach with a stunning view over the Gulf of Mexico.Since I enjoy fishing I was in my element. The weather was brilliant even though it was supposed to be the hurricane season. We would often sit on the terrace watching the Pelicans fishing and Dolphins playing.
Nearby is the small fishing village of Chelem and the larger town of Progreso where there are excellent restaurants which are both cheap and fun.The local people were very helpful and extremely friendly in fact we were welcomed every where we went.
My only regret is that we had to go back to England.

If you have a dream of a holiday by a sandy beach like myself then a holiday at Casa Rosa will fulfil your expectations! The view from the porch is so perfect – I have to keep reminding myself it is real!
Palm trees in the back garden, frame the image of calm, turquoise sea; pelicans gliding then diving, for a fish (which Paul, my partner, can’t seem to catch!)
Once you walk through the back gate, you are on the beach. You can’t better that for location!!
We are spending August 2009 here, which is the, so –called, busy time of the year for the beach. However, if you call a few Mexican families, bobbing gently on the water, on an inflatable tortoise or lilo busy, then Chelem in August is not for you! It can get busier at weekends – but there will always be plenty of space on the beach, as Mexicans do not sun bathe, they are either in the shade of their porches or – as I said – bobbing gently on the waves!
The house and apartments are superbly decorated, with beautiful, brightly coloured tiles lining much of the kitchen area, creating an authentic, attractive and cheerful style. The living areas are well furnished with comfortable and functional furniture. The bedrooms hold comfortable beds in beautiful bed linen – heaven!
So if you are looking for beautiful views, an idyllic sandy beach on your door step and a high standard of accommodation then try Casa Rosa and really chill out!!
